Bodega Palacio de Arganza

The stone walls of this beautiful palace winery guard the rich tradition of wine growing started by the gentlemen of Arganza, who produced wines which carry great prestige among the nobility of the Royal Houses of Galicia, Asturias and Leon. The cellar of Palacio de Arganza was established in 1805, it has combined the best essence of the traditional wine growing, with the methods of modern oenology to make wines of high quality. Inside the palace classical lines have been chosen and can be clearly seen in the various rooms of the palace, both in furniture and in the other elements which form part of he decoration. In the wine cellar the red wines are submitted to a first maturing in large vats made of oak, afterwards they are passed on to mature further in Bordeaux barrels and finally they are again put into another large vat until the moment they are bottled. This is how the very balanced presence of the wood is achieved in the red wines of Palacio de

Arganza. The red grape varieties are: Mencia, Garnacha, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon. The white grape varieties are: Godello, Valenciana, Jerez and Riesling. Tasting notes: The whites are pale, fresh and fruity, the reds using predominance of the Mencia variety of grape, which feels velvety to the palate, are rich in potassium and have a moderate pH. They are ideal for aging, conserved well up to ten or fifteen years. Here are some of the band of wines available: Palacio de Arganza Crianza 1982, Palacio de Arganza Crianza 1985, Palacio de Arganza Crianza 1987 all of these wine are made with Mencia, Carbernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo, they also have whites & rose wines.
