hunting lodge for Alphonso XIII
This Parador it was built as a hunting lodge for Alphonso XIII, in 1926. It was the first Parador open in Spain - of the state owned chain of Paradores Nacionales. Its solid stone walls preserve the simplicity of the place; the fire places, the warm wooden flooring, the comfortable wide rooms, with a view of the pine woods and the mountains, and an excellent cuisine complete the setting. Its location, on El Alto del Risquillo, is a privileged viewpoint of the Tormes valley, the Gredos massif and the Piedrahita and Béjar mountain ranges, becoming a centre for hikes. The classicism of the wood prevails in the dining room, library and living rooms. The presence of granite columns and the furniture offer the whole a traditional Castilian style. /p>
