- Departure from Santiago
- The motorway will be taken to Lugo.
- Stopping at LUGO, the capital of the roman
Galicia. Walking tour of the old area
visiting both its 12th.-century cathedral
and 4th.-century roman walls which were
declared World Heritage monument by UNESCO
in the year 2000.
- LUNCH
- Next stop PORTOMARIN, It is a historical
town rescued, stone by stone, from its
original site. Nowadays the waters of the
Miño River close over it giving rise to an
important dam. Lining the Miño River you
will see the vineyards whose graps are used
for producing the famous local rum aguardiente".
- The way back to Santiago will be following
the PILGRIMS WAY TO SANTIAGO since Middle
Ages, which is, without doubt, the oldest
most celebrated route of the old continent.
The first pilgrims to Santiago came in the
11th. century, but after then, the influx
began to grow forcefully until our times
- PALAS DE REI, Its name makes reference to
Alphonso the ninth, king of both Galica and
León, who specially favoured this town
Nevertheless, there is a popular legend
which tells that its name comes from the
visigothic king Witiza who had his palace
here.
- The last stage passes through the lands of
Melide and Arzua.
- Stopping at LEBOREIRO small village, which
still preserves its medieval aspect, with
its fine restoration of houses and streets
around a beautiful Romanesque church(stop)

- MELIDE, It was already mentioned in the
early 12th. century. Several churches and
the oldest stone cross of Galicia are worth
seeing.
