VIGO - BAIONA - VALENÇA DO MINHO - SANTIAGO

- Departure from Santiago
- VIGO ESTUARY. - SAN SIMON BAY
- First stop VIGO, it is the largest city in
Galicia. It also has the most important
fishing port destinated to the frozen. it is
situated on the shores of Vigo bay.
- Sightseeing - Castro mountain; splendid
views of Vigo estuary. La piedra quarter:
woman selling aysters. Castrelos Park and
gardens of the Palace Quiñones de León.
- Following the coast road we will reach
Baiona.
- Stopping at BAIONA, the oldest port in
Galicia. There is a replica of the caravel
"La Pinta". The first place in Europe which
knew th discovery of America. Conde de
Gondomar Palace being nowadays a four star
Parador.
- Last stop VALENÇA DO MINHO fortress city
dating from 18th century. From the bulwark
we may admire impresive lookouts over th
Miño-River. Narrow streets with shops which
offer all kind of typical portuguesian
products (pottery, lingerie, wines, goldwork
etc.) some free time.
- LUNCH
- After lunch you will have some time for
souvenirs
- Return to Santiago
