El Esparragal is a modern farm with a surface of 3,000 Hectares. The origin of the buildings is a seventeenth century Jerome convent. From the ancient Tartessians to the modern Andalusian, El Esparragal has been inhabited by Romans, Visigothic, Moslems and Christians. The paths that link every hamlet, the ruins of ancient villages, the convent, the hot baths, the mills and the mines reveal the way in which each historic civilization learnt to profit from this land. In the company of a qualified guide, we will visit the Pure Spanish horse breed, the Retinto bulls, the milk cows farm (which produces daily 14,000 litres of milk), as well as the Mediterranean forest (with 14,000 hectares devoted to big game), the mill, the Roman baths, a carriage museum.
