Enjoy a wine tour from Madrid to Bodegas Osborne Malpica in the La
Mancha/Castilla region.
La Mancha is the world´s largest wine producing area, with a total of 191,699
hectares of vineyards, a truly remarkable figure that allows the production of a
large proportion of all the wine produced in Spain.
This winery can be traced back to the year 2000,
when on of Europe´s most ambitious and most important wine-making projects was
started and where the Osborne Group approached wine making in a new way.
This approach is characterized by new innovations in vine growing techniques and
the development of varieties that are in response to what the consumer on the
Spanish and international markets is looking for: to be able to enjoy top class
wines with an excellent quality/price relationship.
Right from the start, an integral approach, ranging from growing the vine to
marketing the wine, has marked the tone of this project and has been endorsed by
an exhaustive research process at every stage.
Bodegas
Osborne Malpica has been inspired by the New World Wines and focuses on the
brand playing then leading role, with the guarantee of the know how of over two
centuries of its parent company, Osborne.
The Osborne Malpica estate has a surface area of over 1,000 hectares, with room
for 3,000,000 wine stocks of the varieties most suited to the soil and climate
of Castilla: Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot,
Syrah
The
winery currently has over 25,00 m2 of buildings and it is planned to double this
area in the long term. The Osborne Malpica wines, Solaz and Dominio de
Malpica, are the only Spanish wine which, right from the start, were sent to
the overseas markets: its first customers in 2001, were American and German wine
drinkers.
