On this private chauffeur-guided day tour visitors will be able to sample a
small taste of what this region has to offer. The tour departure for Lisbon, but
can also start from other city and villages in Lisbon upon request.
Submerse yourself in a sublime blend of Portuguese culture, history, wine, and
gastronomy on this tour of the rustic Alentejo province. Explore the Roman
legacy at Évora (a Unesco World Heritage Site) and indulge in wine and olive oil
tasting at quaint Esporão.
Begin with a guided tour of Évora, the province's capital. View the incredible
relics of one of Portugal's best-preserved Roman temples; capture images of the
cathedral's Romanesque and gothic turrets; and venture into the Chapel of
Bones—whose gruesome walls and pillars are covered with skulls and bones. You
will also sample regional delicacies—including salted snake—and award-winning
wines before heading to Esporão for a lunch break. After lunch, head to a
traditional Esporão vineyard to taste two of the region's best red and white
wines, accompanied by samples of fresh olive oil.
