Introduction:
Catalan Cuisine A Mediterranean Morsel
Catalonia has long enjoyed a delicious and refined cuisine throughout its varied lands, embracing the coast, mountains, and plains. You can enjoy anything from the wide array of fish from the coast, to typical inland dishes such as escudella (a meaty broth with pasta, usually followed by carn d´olla, a hearty stew) and roasts.

You will be lodged at the La Padrosa, a 4 star family hotel, located in the heart of the Costa Brava, surrounded by 40,000 square meters of woodland and panoramic views, comfortably equipped and elegantly decorated. La Padrosa has direct access to a lovely cove and picturesque coastal walks.

Less than an hour away is the home of Dali. You will have enough time to explore Dali´s trail (Figueres, Cadaqués…), visiting the homes and exhibits related to this famous painter, coupled with culinary visits to traditional bakeries and markets. And you will top it all off with a wine tasting session.

You will get to know the medieval villages and towns of Girona, Pals, Peratallada, Palafrugell… historical sites within beautiful landscapes of shaped cliffs, the unforgettable Mediterranean Sea, and endless olive groves and vineyards; a true opportunity to experience and understand what the Mediterranean has been for its people over the centuries.

We will organize a cooking class to make you familiar with the most traditional recipes of Catalonia, at the prestigious Aula Gastronomica del Ampurdá.

The area also holds a significant number of higher quality restaurants that feature the local cuisine of L´ Empordà, which has become famous for the constant references found in the writings of famous Catalan writer Josep Plà.
