During these seven days and six nights, we will spend overnight stays in
PORTO, Vilarinho,
Ponte de Lima, Tui, Ponte Caldelas, Brión and Santiago, in traditional, rustic
and manor houses, belonging to long-standing Portuguese families. The meeting
point will be the Vigo Airport.
We will ride about 35 kms. per day, admiring the country landscapes of
Portugal's "Costa VERDE", steeped in history, art and natural beauty (medieval
monuments, Roman bridges and fascinating Baroque architecture) and finally we
will arrive in SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA on day 8 in the evening where we will
visit the city and its cathedral. Board and lodging in three or four star Hotel.
The itinerary includes accommodation and full board, plus professional guides,
escorts and insurance, fully-kitted horses and cross-country vehicles.
This is the way chosen by the Portuguese pilgrims. This route comes along
Portugal and reaches Galicia from the South.
We shall start our trip from Braga (Northern Portugal) and we'll ride along this
pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela.
As a horse-riding pilgrims we shall revive a part of the history of the old
Europe.
We shall cross along some of the best conserved natural environments of Southern
Europe. Remote old villages and historic remains will be reached by us and we
shall enjoy nature and wildlife as the ancients did.
